Hope of an early conclusion of the treaty between the United States and Great Britain, concerning the equality of rights of American citizens in Palestine, was expressed here to-day in official circles, confirming the London report that the proposed treaty is now under consideration by the British Foreign Office.
It could not be ascertained whether the proposed treaty will contain any reference with regard to the Jewish National Homeland in Palestine. It was stated that none of the provisions of the treaty can be disclosed at present. It is probable, however, that no such a motion will be made in the treaty. It is understood that the treaty will confine itself strictly to the question of American rights in Palestine and will not touch upon any outside political matters.
It is anticipated here that the conclusion of the treaty will be a favorable one and will aid the development of American business connections with the Holly Land. A similar treaty, regarding the Mandated territory of Syrian with similar objects in view has already been concluded with France.
