On the release of Israel sterling balances frozen in London, Virtual agreement has been achieved and it is expected that the British will agree to release larger anounts of currency to Israel during 1950 than were released monthly during 1949.
On the settlement of British claims against Israel for expenses incurred by the former Mandatory Administration, it is reported that the British have scaled down their claims considerably from the original 15,000,000 pounds requested and that there is only a small gap between their demands and the Israel offor. In an attempt to speed up the negotiations the heads of the two delegations have been meeting alone this past week.
