The Anglo-Jewish Association today submitted a memorandum to the Foreign Office suggesting that the United Nations allocate a portion of German reparations to a Jewish rehabilitation fund to be entrusted to the Intergovernmental Committee for Refugees and other appropriate authorities.
The memorandum urges that the allocations should be made to various governments on the condition that the whole amount be used for resettlement and rehabilitation of Jews and that Jewish organizations in the respective countries be consulted and their services utilized. In the case of Palestine, the Jewish Agency should be consulted, it says.
