A leader of the Land of Israel movement predicted yesterday that its position would one day be accepted by most Israelis, including those now opposed to It. The movement has called for the annexation of all Arab territories seized by Israel in the Six-Day War.
Dr. Haim Yahil, addressing the opening session of the movement’s national conference said, “Our definition of peace is when the Arabs recognize our right to an Israel big enough for the majority of Jews to live in.” He claimed that the Land of Israel movement transcends party lines and has members from all political factions. Eventually, he said, those who were initially against the movement will be forced “to see things our way.”
Reserves Maj. Gen. Avraham Yoffe claimed that in 10-15 years most Israelis would appreciate the movement’s stand that no compromise should endanger the achievements of the Six-Day War.
