The Government of Poland desires the expansion of Jewish cultural and social life in that country, the Ambassador of Poland in the United States, Romuald Spasowski, last night told a meeting here of 3, 500 persons marking the 15th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Revolt. The memorial, one of several in the city and many across the land, was organized by 54 cultural and fraternal Jewish organizations.
The Ambassador stressed that Poland has provided funds to assist in the publication of Yiddish books, periodicals and newspapers and in the support of a variety of Jewish cultural, educational and religious institutions. “All trades and professions, all higher schools of learning are open to Jews, “Mr. Spasowski declared. He added that the majority of the Poles were aware of the danger of poisoning of Poland’s moral and political life inherent in racism and anti-Semitism.
