A gift of $150,000 to establish three $50,000 scholarships in perpetuity at the Feinberg Graduate School of the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovoth, was disclosed here by Dr. Dewey D. Stone, chairman of the Institute’s board of governors. The gift was made in the name of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice M. Gordon of Boston. A son, Robert Gordon, and a son-in-law, Donald Jacobson, were instrumental in arranging the gift. Mr. Gordon, realtor and philanthropist, has given extensively to Jewish and non-Jewish causes in this country and to Israel, He is a former member of the Massachusetts Committee on Atomic Energy.
The scholarships will be awarded annually to three graduate students of any nationality seeking a doctorate in science at the Feinberg School. The school, on the Weizmann Institute campus, is chartered as an American institution by the Board of Regents of New York State. It presently has a student body of about 300 of whom 20 percent are from abroad.
