Announcement of a campaign which will start February 5 for the purpose of raising $100,000 among Hartford Jewry for the construction of a new building for the Hebrew Women’s Home for Children was made this Thursday at the annual meeting of the Board of Directors of the Home.
Alfred M. Silberman is chairman of the campaign committee.
The reports submitted showed that while expenses of the fiscal year amounted to $32,031 the home used only $23,442 of the $30,065 alloted to it by the Community Chest. The remainder of the home’s expenditures it was explained was provided for by outside contributions.
