Another Jewish activist in Moscow, Joseph Begun, has been taken into custody by the authorities to keep him from demonstrating while President Nixon is in the Soviet Union, Jewish sources said today. Arrested earlier were Vladimir Slepak, Roman Rutman, Victor Polsky, Boris Orlov, Vladimir Lebov, Valentine Prussakov and Vladimir Prestin.
Because of an error in trans-Atlantic transmission, it was incorrectly reported yesterday that Hillel Butman and Anatoly Altman were sentenced to 15-day jail terms in Moscow for “hooliganism.” Rutman are serving 10-year terms in Potma prison. The activists referred to in the story were Rutman and Polsky.
