Army Major Lloyd H. Kushner, 32-year-old Jewish officer, is on the list of prisoners-of-war in Vietnam scheduled to return to the United States, the Pentagon informed the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. Apart from saying that Maj. Kushner was born on June 30, 1941; and that he is Jewish, the Pentagon declined to disclose further information about him. Army Lt. Col. Perry Wilson, a spokesman at the Pentagon, said that the identity could not be disclosed pending his return to the United States.
Earlier, the JTA was informed by the Air Force that two of its captains, Edward A. Brudno and Melvin Pollack, were on the POW list. The U.S. Marines were reported by Col. Wilson to have no Jewish personnel among its POWs. The Navy has declined to make public any information of this nature.
