Anti-alien demonstrations are becoming almost daily occurrences in Montreal. To-day 800 unemployed French-Canadians marched to the factory of a local tobacco company and demanded that all foreigners should be dismissed and their places given to French-Canadians.
Attempts have been made to stop the employment of aliens in other places, one such attempt culminating in a brawl in which one alien was so seriously injured that he was removed to a hospital. To prevent any further demonstrations special police patrols have been assigned to guard industrial plants where large number of aliens are employed.
