Establishment of an urban affairs department in the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith was announced today at the 55th annual meeting of the League here. The department which will “systematize, coordinate and catalog” ADL activities in connection with the urban crisis and race relations, will work through the League’s 28 regional offices and the B’nai B’rith constituency.
Earlier. Ben Epstein, executive director of ADL, reported to the conference on measures being taken to open management positions in areas long closed to them for Jews and other minorities. He reported that during the past year, ADL had begun a cooperative educational affirmative action program with private employment agencies to promote more and better jobs for minority group applicants.
