Anti-Semitic students came to blows with Jews at the University of Kovno when the former objected to a display of posters in Yiddish characters on the University campus.
The Jews escaped without injury, but the posters were torn down.
The anti-Semitic students have displayed posters declaring that while Jews constitute but 7.58 percent of the population, the Jewish students constitute 26.35 percent of the student body at the University.
The rector who has been outspoken against anti-Semitism and has expressed his opposition to numerus clausus has added fuel to the flame by declaring the objection is justified inasmuch as the Jewish students use the Russian language in conversation instead of the Lithuanian or their own national tongues.
