Permanent anti-Jewish placards were erected today in the Kurfuerstendamm, Berlin’s White Way and scene of a planned attack against Jews last June.
The posters, characterized by the usual Nazi bluntness and lack of subtlety, attracted considerable attention, particularly among foreigners, including Englishmen and Americans who were heard to comment on the vulgarity of the display.
Two signs attracted particular attention. One depicts a naked Jew with the inscription “That’s how Jews will be forced to leave Germany.” A similar poster is displayed directly opposite the famous Gedaechtnis Kirche (The Church of Remembrance).
