An invitation to Samuel Untermyer, president of the Non-Sectarian Anti-Nazi League, to address a public meeting here in order to stimulate the anti-Nazi boycott drive was extended by representatives of the Pennsylvania State Federation of Labor, the Central Labor Union of Philadelphia, the American Legion of World War Veterans, the Jewish War Veterans and leading citizens.
At a meeting here today at which the resolution to invite Untermyer was adopted, a united city committee was formed to further the anti-German boycott. Jacob B. Hoffmann, deputy banking commissioner, was elected chairman of the committee which will arrange the mass meeting which Untermyer is expected to address. Herman N. Schwartz was chosen co-chairman and Morris Drob, treasurer.
A study made here recently revealed that Philadelphia is lagging in the boycott movement. A more intensive campaign will be launched at the meeting, the date of which has not yet been announced.
