Zionist opponents of the proposed partition of Palestine will meet in Amsterdam on Sep. 15 to organize world-wide Zionist opposition against division of the Holy land, regardless of the proposal of Britain’s Partition Commission, it was announced today by Menachem M. Ussishkin, leader of the Zionists who oppose partition.
World Jewry will concentrate on a fight for better conditions under the Palestine mandate once the “partition bogey” has disappeared, Mr. Ussishkin told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, adding that a modus vivendi with the Arabs could also be found then. He declared that convocation of the Zionist general Council, as demanded by the group “B” General Zionist faction, would be inopportune so long as it was not known when the Partition Commission’s report would be published.
