Two anti-Semitic acts were reported here today to have been committed in Hungary. In Budapest, a swastika was found on one wall of the Jewish Community Center building on Santa Jozsef Street. Budapest police told leaders of the Jewish community they had traced that defacement to pupils at a nearby high school.
In the Jewish cemetery in the village of Balaton Boglar, 30 tombstones were discovered this weekend to have been broken. Budapest police, who informed leaders of the capital’s Jewish community of this desecration, said they had, thus far, been unable to find clues to perpetrators of this act.
