A few individuals “of one and the same group of a certain ideological persuasion” are carrying on a campaign against fair employment practices legislation throughout Canada by flooding the newspapers with letters announcing this legislation as Communist or anti-Christian, the Israelite Press of Winnipeg charged here in an editorial. The paper said that many of the letters use anti-Semitic arguments and seek to link the Jews with Communism.
“The group carrying on the fight against FEP undoubtedly has many more significant aims–such a group can flourish only in an atmosphere of race conflicts,” the editorial warned. “Its influence is very small at the present but it merits watching the group can become much more dangerous in the event of economic difficulties in this country.”
