The anti-Semitic disturbances which occurred here yesterday in connection with the trial of nine Jews charged with conducting Communist activities, continued today.
Five hundred Cuzists took part in a demonstration outside of the home of the Minister for Bukowina, Saucuk Saveanu, demanding the release of the Cuzists arrested in connection with yesterday’s events.
An attempt made by the students to storm the prison where their comrades are held, was frustrated by the police.
The arrests were made by order of the public prosecutor of Czernowitz and include the president of the Cuzist Student League, Dobosh Boca, and two vice-presidents, Costache and Buscatzeanu.
Three Jewish youths, Sternberg, Chanes and Retter, were also taken into custody by the police.
