Racial hatred and anti-Semitism were condemned today at an international congress of Roman Catholics attended by leading Catholics from European countries and the United States.
Germany was unrepresented because the Nazi Government had prohibited the Reich’s delegation from attending the congress.
Cardinal Long, in opening the parley, said that Catholics were faced with a fight on two fronts–against “Communist atheism” and “racial heathenism. Both movements, he said, strive to uproot religion.
