The great weakness of anti-Semites everywhere is their lack of common purpose. While they hate Jews, this is usually not the only axe they have to grind. Thus an anti-Semitic Socialist like Goebbels hated equally the anti-Semitic Junkers. The anti-Semitic pervert Roehm, hated all normal men perhaps more thoroughly than he did Jews.

When anti-Semitism, like any other body, find a common ground on which to unite themselves, despite the many divers opinions which necessarily guide them in all else, they become truly dangerous, since decent men who do not subscribe to these bloody medieval ideas still remain disunited.

This is our great danger in America, as it is, indeed, in France, England, or any other nation in the world where Jews live: That anti-Semites who find a common ground for unified action, such as the bogey of Communism in Germany, will find on this subject only a tissue paper opposition resisting them. If Jew-haters in the Social Register are thus provided with a ground to make common purpose with Jew-haters in the professions, the laboring unions and elsewhere, you have an ire-sistable wave of anti-Semitism in the making.

This will occur despite the fact that the majority of the population is never in accord with Jewbaiting and may have marital ties and life-long friendship among the Jewish population. The disorganized majority is totally unable to resist the impact of the anti-Semitic phalanx.

FRIENDSHIP PASSIVE

Friendship for any people can be viewed at best as being largely passive. That is, no one is going to stick his head deliberately under the axe in order merely to achieve rights for the Jews. The stock reaction probably will be that an injustice is being done, but that it up to the Jews to take care of themselves.

I say, therefore, that every stock property exists here to put on a first-class anti-Semitic show. Jews who fancy that mere liberalism and the abstract principles of justice will save them from a performance of this kind are as asinine as the assimilated Jews who feel that by donning lion’s skin they will be taken for the lion. That the first fury of anti-Semitic action will be leveled against them is comprehensible only to a rational-minded person who is able to see clearly both cause and effect; but of course assimilated Jews do not possess rational minds, a lack of which is uriversal among hypocrites and renegades, for all their peacock posturings.

The German Jews, of course, set a classic example in neo-Gentilism. They conformed so strictly that if one had wanted to find a letter-perfect picture of a German Gentile, he would have been forced to seek out a Jew. These Germans who hid their Jewishness in every guise that the escapist, cowardly psychology could conceive, demolished at the same time the unity, the intelligence and the manhood which might have saved them.
