Every German who is not an anti-Semite is a traitor to the Fatherland, runs the most recent slogan adopted by Der Stuermer, Julius Streicher’s rabidly anti-Semitic weekly, in its campaign against the Jews and everything which is in any way Jewish.

Not content with the vicious “ritual murder” number of May 1, and undeterred by the recent ban against the sale of that issue in Berlin, the latest edition of the weekly continues its virulent campaign against Jews.

The new point of attack is the Old Testament. Der Stuermer violently dislikes Biblical figures who had the quality of leadership, among them Moses, Joshua, David and Mordecai, and calls them criminals. Medieval torture imposed upon both Jews and Christians who had dealings with each other are cited by the publication as proof that “the former centuries, however dark they may have been, nevertheless instinctively imposed heavy penalties for this crime.”

“The Jew has poisoned the blood of many of our contemporaries to the very bone,” the Stuermer concludes.

Julius Streicher was made Nazi Commissioner of Franconia by Hitler a short time ago.
