An appeal by Mark Nashpitz and Boris Tsitlionok will be heard April 25, it was reported today by the National Con-ference on Soviet Jewry. The two men were sentenced March 31 to five years in exile by a Moscow district court. The NCSJ also reported that Sender Levinson of Benderi in Moldavia, has been charged with speculation, and Lev Roitburd of Odessa was arrested this week on unknown charges. Both are activists and long-standing “refusniks.”
Meanwhile, according to an unconfirmed report, the Supreme Court of the Soviet Union rejected the appeal of Mikhail Leviev, who is under sentence of death in Moscow. He was charged with illicit dealings in precious commodities and sentenced to death by the Moscow district court.
