An appeal to American Jewry to aid the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society and the Emig-direct in its efforts to carry on the work of finding places of refuge for the Jews of Eastern Europe was made here today by the Argentine Jewish Immigrant Aid Society.
Referring to the recent arrival in the United States of Dr. Myron Kreinin, president of the Emig-direct and an official of the Hicem, which is carrying on the work of the Emig-direct, the Hias and the Jewish Colonization Association, the Argentine Society, says that the Hicem’s “beneficent activities have permitted the development of immigration work in South America, thus saving from misery thousands of our fellow Jews in Europe.”
