Former Justice James I. Ellmann of Highland Park, was appointed assistant attorney general by Michigan’s attorney general, Patrick H. O’Brien.
Mr. Ellmann has been appointed to serve as counsel of the newly-formed public trust commission and the state bondholders committee.
From 1918 to 1923 Mr. Ellmann was justice of Highland Park. Last year he won the nomination for mayor of Highland Park, losing the election by less than 100 votes.
