Approve Plans for New Sinai Hospital Complex in Baltimore

Plans for the new Sinai Hospital, a seven-building, 423-bed hospital costing $16,000,000 according to the “fundamental design” of its architects, have been approved by the boards of both the Associated Jewish Charities and Sinai Hospital.

The new Sinai, which will be part of an $18,000,000 Jewish Medical Center in Northwest Baltimore, will be located on an 130-acre plot which is already the site of the Levindale Hebrew Home and Infirmary and the Mount Pleasant Sanatorium.

The Medical Center will have a total bed capacity of 709, and the seven buildings comprising the Sinai unit will be a 324-bed general hospital, a 99-bed obstetrical and gynecological building, a staff building for internes and residents, a nurses’ training school, an auditorium, a service building, end a nurses’ residence.
