Israeli, Egyptian and Arab Legion military leaders met in no-man’s-land all day today in an attempt to extend the special cease-##re now in existence since noon yesterday, and to increase the neutral zone around the Red Cross enclave. No results of the meeting have been announced.
The Jewish and Arab leaders net with Brig. Gen. William Riley, American U.N. representative, at a church near the Damascus Gate to the Old City. Correspondents were rigorously excluded, because during the last peace negotiations three weeks go they reported that the Egyptians’ bitter wrangling broke up the peace talks.
Meanwhile, Jerusalem inhabitants have been enjoying a real peace, such as is rarely been their lot since last November. The Israeli Army reported only ## minor Arab outbursts of shooting during last night, one against Ramath Rachel, ?uth of the city, and one on the northern outskirts. In neither case did the Jews answer and the Arabs soon ceased. Israeli military sources say that the truce has been observed much better than they had dared to hope.
