All central Arab organizations are called upon by the “Falastin” to form a united front and demand of the Mandates Commission that it take up the report of Sir John Hope Simpson, special investigator of the British government and the Passfield White Paper based on the Simpson report.
The call is issued in connection with the forthcoming session of the Mandates Commission which the Palestine High Commissioner will attend.
“We can depend upon the High Commissioner,” the Arab paper says, “who will undoubtedly picture everything for the Mandates Commission in rosy colors in order to make possible a larger immigration.”
The “Falastin” urges independent Arab action asserting “we must draw the attention of the Mandates Commission especially to the question of land which is fast passing into Jewish hands.”
The Simpson report and the Passfield White Paper aroused such a storm of protest from Jewish circles that a modification was issued by Premier MacDonald, while the League of Nations itself warned Britain against crystallizing its policy in Palestine.
