The Arab Congress which will conclude its sessions here tonight, limited its acticity to renewing the demand for a Palestine parliament.
Two hundred and ten delegates, including 42 Christian Arabs, participated in the session, which decided to send two cables to the British Colonial Office, the High Comissioner Lord Plumer, the League of Nations and to the leading newspapers in England.
The first cable states that Palestine is suffering greatly since the British occupation because it has no parliamentary representation. As there should be no taxation.. without representation, the Congress demands that Palestine be given a parliamentary government.
In the second cable, the delegates protest against the statement made to the Permanent Mandates Commission of the League of Nations last week by Col. George S. Symes, that the position in Palestine is improving and that the country is developing toward self-government.
Besides the election of a new execuno other business is to be transacted by the Congress. The delegates also despatched a telegram of congratulations to the Syrian constituent assembly.
