The Arab daily, Al Liwaa, reported today that the Government has approved issuance of 4,000 labor immigration certificates to the Jewish Agency for Palestine for the six months beginning October. The Agency asked 11,800 certificates.
Eric Mills, Immigration Director, recommended advancing 2,000 certificates immediately to the Jewish Agency, the paper said, adding that William G. A. Ormsby-Gore favored the advance, while High Commissioner Sir Arthur Grenfell Wauchope opposed it.
