Rustum Bastani, an Arab deputy in the knesset and one of the dissident leaders who, together with Dr. Moshe Sneh, broke away from the Mapam has been expelled from the Sneh group for “grave differences” in policy. Mr. Bastani, who is an extreme nationalist and apparently refused to accept the Leninist principles on national minorities, has re-applied to the Mapam for re-admittance. The Mapam Parliamentary fraction has accepted him pending final action by the party’s central council.
