Israel is a “tiny little country which has been established in Palestine by the U.N. and the personal support of ex-President Truman of the United States,” according to the Arabic Encyclopedia published in Beirut, it was reported in the Jerusalem Post here. The Lebanese reference work also declared that the liquidation of Israel is one of the pillars of the Arab National Charter.
The article on Israel also maintains that while Israel is exerting every effort to gain recognition by the Arab states, she is simultaneously preparing for a “second round” of the Israel-Arab war and is in continuous violation of the Armistice Agreements, especially in relation to Jordan.
The encyclopedia contains an article on Zionism, in which the Arab editors give the following description of that movement: “Zionism is a movement which aims at the occupation of Palestine and the Arab world. The present aggressive political movement was founded in 1896. The Jewish State in Palestine is only the first stage in the implementation and realization of the Zionist dream.”
