The Arab Executive has wired to Sir John Chancellor, Palestine High Commissioner, that although we have always protested against the activities of Norman Bentwich as attorney-general we regret and blame most severely the attempt on his life whatever the reason for it may be because acts of violence are contrary to our tactics and methods. The Palestine government published the cables in all of the Arabic and Hebrew papers.
