The exiled Palestine Arab High Committee, led by the ex-Mufti of Jerusalem, today published a manifesto rejecting Britain’s plan for an independent Palestine state, as a reply to a group of 150 Arab moderates, headed by Ragheb Bey Nashashibi, who yesterday voted approval of the British White Paper. Nashashibi was received by High Commissioner Sir Harold A. MacMichael and submitted the moderates resolution.
Khalil Shanin, a leader of Nashashibi’s Arab Defense Party and a participant in the meeting which adopted the resolution, was assassinated at his home in Bethlehem last night.
