Describing the recommendations of both the majority and minority members of Unscop as “absurd, impractical and unjust,” a statement issued here today by the Palestine Arab Higher Committee charged the Unscop members with “a pro-Zionist bias.”
The statement said that the Committee delegates had received definite instructions from their governments to support Zionist positions and views, adding that the relations between the delegates and Zidnist representatives clearly indicated their bias. The Arabs stated that the Unscop reports showed a “shallow knowledge of the Palestine problem” and “no sense of justice.”
(Jamal Husseini., deputy chairman of the Palestine Arab Higher Committee, has been named to head the delegation the body is sending to Lake Success to attend the forthcoming session of the General Assembly. In a statement issued in Jerusalem today on the eve of his departure for New York, Husseini said that the Arabs “will not tolerate any form of partition.” He attacked the Indian delegate to Unscop, Sir Abdur Sahman, for voting for a federal state, which would involve a form of partition.)
