Details of the decision of the political subcommittee of the World Zionist Organization’s general council to reach an understanding between the Jews and Arabs on the basis of political equality were explained today in an editorial in the Palestine Review.
Declaring that this policy, fostered by Dr. Chaim Weizmann, president of the Zionist organization, was approved by the committee after six weeks of discussion, the editorial commented:
“It is a program of straight cooperation with the Mandatory Power for fully implementing the mandate with its double but uncontradictory obligations to the Jews and the Arabs. It is a program of understanding between the two peoples on the basis of political equality which would render impossible the domination of one over the other and ensure unhampered progress of the Jewish national home as well as free Arab development in Palestine.”
