Achmed Said, convicted for the murder of Safanov, a Jewish policeman of Petach Tikvah, received a sentence of only six months imprisonment. In imposing the light sentence, the court declared that the murder had been unpremediated.
Savanov, on guard near the Petach Tikva railway station, was shot and instantly killed on June 13. It was stated at police headquarters at the time that the crime was committeed by theives in an attempt to escape.
