Mussa Kazim Pasha, leader of the anti-Zionist Arab Executive, modified his statement he made some time ago in an interview with the representative of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, in a declaration he now publishes in the Arab press.
In his interview Mussa Kazim Pasha stated that “the Arab demands do not contradict Great Britain’s international obligations.” The Arab newspapers criticised the Arab leader and demanded that he retract his statement.
In his present explanation he declared that the Arab demands do not contradict Britain’s international obligations “in general matters, like religious freedom and trade and sanitary treaties.” but with regard to Great Britain’s commitments to the Jewsh, he has to stress that the Arabs “have refused to extend these privileges.” Palestine Jews should have equal rights and duties in proportion to their number. He swore at the fifth Arab Congress to fight against the Balfour Declaration with all his force and he is faithful to this pledge, he stated.
