An understanding between Arabs and Jews in Palestine “in order to successfully conclude the talks for Arab unity which are now taking place in Cairo” was urged today by the Arab leader Issa Elisaa, editor of the leading Arab newspaper Falastin, who has just returned from Cairo.
Mr. Elissa said that the Egyptian Premier Nahas Pasha, who is one of the pillars of the pan-Arab federation movement, had told him that the Arabs in Palestine must accept the presence of the Jews in Palestine as an important factor. The Premier stipulated however that the Jews in Palestine must agree to consider themselves a minority and to partake as a direct party in the discussions on the establishment of a pan-Arab federation which are now being conducted in Cairo.
