The recent conference of the Arab League at Bludan, Syria, proposed the formation of a combined Arab army to defend Palestine and other Arab countries against “Zionist and foreign aggression,” Reuter reports today from Bagdad.
The report says that the conferees also urged that the Arab governments break off diplomatic and economic relations with the United States and Britain, if the two countries carry out the recommendations of the Anglo-American inquiry committee.
The Arab News Agency said today that the Lebanese government is preparing to open negotiations with the Palestine government concerning payment for the damages caused by recent operations by Jewish resistance forces along the Lebanese borders. Meanwhile, Lebanon has instructed its border guards to shoot everybody who tries to cross into the country from Palestine.
It was learned today that the eight Jews arrested in Lebanon last week as “Zionist spies,” were members of the crew of a training vessel for Jewish sailors. Representatives of the Zebulen Seafaring Co., which owns the ship, have gone to Beirut to secure their release.
