The Arab League’s political committee, meeting in Alexandria, decided today to ask the United Nations for a full-dress debate on the Palestine refugee problem at next month’s meeting of the General Assembly, Reuters reported from Egypt.

A letter to U.N. Secretary-General Trygve Lie from Egypt’s Foreign Minister Dr. Salah el Din Bey will urge the United Nations to carry out its resolution for the return of refugees to their homes and the payment of compensation for losses sustained during their “exile.” Other Arab states will send letters supporting this appeal, the report said.
