The Arab League will call a session of all its member states in the near future to formally recognize the ex-Mufti of Jerusalem as president of the Palestine Arab Higher Committee, well informed Arabic circles reported today.
The Arab League office here has been informed by Syria that it has sent representations to the United States Government protesting President Truman’s attitude on Palestine. The Syrian Government has also informed the U.S. that the President’s recent declaration on the admission of 100,000 Jews to Palestine has aroused a public reaction which is threatening to cause a break in diplomatic relations between the two nations and a boycott of the U.S. by Syria.
