All leading Arab newspapers in Palestine today suddenly published articles urging the Arabs of the country to enlist in large numbers and to double the number of Jewish enlistments.
Emphasizing that increased Arab recruitment in Palestine is essential for post-war claims, the three most important Arab newspapers, Falastin, Adifaa and Asirat, all urge the launching of an Arab recruitment campaign throughout the country. The Adifaa points out that the Jews in Palestine have given “a not inconsiderable number of recruits” and that they continue their recruiting work. “Thus,” the paper says, “it is the duty of the Arabs to double the number of our neighbors and to volunteer for army services for the very same reason for which they are doing it.”
