A new Arab party, consisting mainly of peasants, has been formed in Hebron. The program of the new party, as announced, calls for the following:
1, the protection of the home productions from foreign competition; 2, the reduction of taxes; 3, proper provisions for the education of the population, particularly along agricultural lines; 4, peace with other races; 5, acceptance of the mandate given to Great Britain over Palestine; 6, co-operation with the government in the proposed Legislative Council.
Up till now the Arabs have rejected the several attempts of the Palestinian Government to secure their participation in the Legislative Council.
