An Arab police inspector who is a 20-year veteran of the Israeli police force, has been given jurisdiction over a Jewish community in the Nazareth area it was announced today. Inspector Jaber Jabarin, 39, thus becomes the first Arab law enforcement official in a Jewish district. Jabarin, who was born in Um el Fahem village, has been described as an outstanding police officer by his superiors.
