An Arab special policeman was killed today, and an Arab police sergeant and two other Arabs were wounded when a terrorist-planted bomb exploded in a crowded train en route from Haifa to Kiriat Chaim.
Under the impression Jews were responsible for the blast, Arab workers on the train attacked three Jewish buses nearby. The drivers fired into the air to disperse the attackers. A jew was seriously wounded and three slightly injured in the clash.
Curfew was reported to have been imposed on the Haifa Bay area as a result of the explosion and subsequent attack.
Other disorders were reported elsewhere. A band attacked the village of Turan in the vicinity of Tiberias, kidnapping an Arab constable who was there on vacation. A band of ten uprooted ten dunams of trees in a Jewish orchard at Hedera. Mizpeh near Tiberias was heavily fired upon from two sides, drawing the return fire of special police.
