An “emergency meeting” of representatives of Egypt; Syria, Lebanon and Jordan took place today in Cairo to consider “collective measures” against Israel in connection with Israel’s retaliatory raid on Jordan last week, a cable from Cairo reports.
Simultaneously, representatives of these four Arab states met in Beirut to draft a protest to the United Nations against “Israeli aggression.” A report from Damascus said that Iraq has stationed a mobile division near her Jordanian frontier in preparation for sending troops into Jordan to help “resist Israel’s aggressions.”
