The four Arab states bordering on Israel continue to maintain unchanged their position on the problem of Israel’s frontiers as well as other Palestine problems, it was learned here this week-end following separate meetings between the United Nations Conciliation Commission and the representatives of the Arab states and between the Commission members and Israel delegates.
The Commissioners met for one and one-half hours with the delegates of Syria, Lebanon, Egypt and Transjordan. In a subsequent six-minute session with Israel representatives, the Commission is understood to have reported the Arabs’ stand and have been informed that the Israel representatives have no new instructions from their government.
