The 13 members of the Arab League told the United Nations Security Council this weekend that Israel’s “aggressive policies and statements” Jeopardized international peace and security. The Arab statement was a reply to Israel’s complaint to the Council last month against the plans adopted by the Arab “summit conference” to liquidate Israel.
Asserting that “Israel was born as a result of colonial aggression,” the Arab League letter charged that “the record of Israel hardly qualifies her to accuse other states of violating the United Nations Charter and of posing a threat to international peace and security,” The Arab statement reaffirmed the determination of the signatory countries to “restore and safeguard the rights of the Palestinian people to their usurped homeland.”
