A report issued by the Dean of Students at the Hebrew University showed that Arab students are switching in increasing numbers from their traditional preference for literature, history and law to courses in the natural sciences. The report said that one third of the “minorities” students at the university this academic year were majoring in natural science, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and agriculture. The minority groups enrolled include Moslem and Christian Arabs as well as Druze. The report disclosed an increase in minority group students from 205 to 230 during the 1970-71 terms, 12 percent higher than the number enrolled during the previous year.
