An Arab attempt to impose a procedural boycott against Israel at the conference of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) which just ended in Teheran, failed by an overwhelming majority, El Al managing director Meyer Ben Ari reported today. Fifteen Arab airlines introduced a resolution which would have prevented Israel from being represented on the various IATA bodies. Mr. Ben Ari, who returned last night from Teheran, reported the move was decisively defeated. He praised IATA president Knut Hammarskjold who denounced attacks on civil aviation and chided Arab companies that tried to draw a distinction between “good crimes and bad crimes.”
